Today is Tuesday of week 13 (Nov. 17)
Just a reminder for seniors to register for classes on Wednesday (tomorrow). May you get the courses you picked out! May they live up to expectations! Except for the course you've only heard bad things about but need for graduation. May it exceed expectations and actually be phenomenal this time!
Schedule for today
Drop in tutorial: 2-3 pm, open to all.
- Option 1: reserve a spot on this Google appointment page
- Option 2: "drop in" anytime, but you may have to wait a bit in the waiting room.
Both are for a Zoom meeting, using the Green Link on your respective Canvas SECRETS pages (or find the info in your Canvas Calendar).
|HST439||Optional video conference chat/check in at 1pm! "Pink Link" can be found on the SECRETS page or on the Canvas Calendar.|
Event: From the Ashes
6-7.30pm: "From 1492 to Covd-19: Indigenous genocide in America", but you must register by 2pm on Tuesday.
An interactive talk with Brittany Hunt, a member of the Lumbee Tribe and a Ph.D. student in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
"This talk will explore American exterminatory processes waged against Indigenous people throughout history, with a focus on germ warfare, concentration camps, missing and murdered Indigenous women (MMIW), and COVID-19. Additional focus will be placed on the ways Indigenous people are erased literally and metaphorically from the American narrative."

Tuesday tech tip
I'm temporarily out of techie Tuesday tech tips! But here's a simple one to start using now, and in future coursework (because I think you will see more blogs and websites in your future, as Bergbuilds is growing!)
In blog posts, embrace the beauty of being on the internet, and go the extra few steps to add a hyperlink:
- to a fellow student's post
- to resource you consulted online
- to a library catalogue record of an additional article or book you used
- to a photograph you found online (in the caption)
We live in the twenty-first century. Everything is connected. Plug your work into the web!
