Wednesday, Week 4 (Sept. 16)

Today is Wednesday (day 3) of week 4.

Posting pictures in the Cloud Lounge: an update

It seems that the "embed file" feature on the Cloud Lounge works, but intermittently and it's very whimsical. Best thing if you want to add a picture is to go to files first and upload the file/picture there, and only then hop over to the discussion for your post; click on "embed file" and pick your file from the list. If the picture doesn't show up when you click "embed", try to refresh the page. There seems to be a bug in the software. Tim Clarke and I are teaming up to find a solution but it may take a while: we both are new to the underlying software (elgg), and have to reach out to the community. But we are channeling our inner Growth Mindset Cat:

Create a trail
Going boldly where no-one at 'berg has gone before with bergbuilds!

Schedule for today

Additional information

Digital Learning is holding more sessions to help you get started, but you're probably already way too far ahead (and could be a tutor for some of your peers!). Still, spread the word among your friends. (check this PDF for the Zoom link and access code)

  • Wednesday 6-7pm (tonight!): setting up Bergbuilds and WordPress
  • Thursday 6-7pm (tomorrow): social annotation with Hypothes.is

The DL team would also love to know what kind of workshops you would find useful from them, and what timing works best for you (mornings, afternoons, late afternoon, evening, weekends,...). Let me know and I'll pass the message!

Fun stuff

I don't know about you, but this is very recognizable:
